Rembrandt Bugatti (Rembrandt Bugatti)
The present portrait depicts Rembrandt Bugatti, succesful animalier sculptor which rose to prominence after the International Exhibiton of Decorative Arts of Paris in 1902. From 1897 Bugatti started attending often Troubetzkoy’s studio. The present portrait had probably been made between 1904 (when Troubetzkoy was in Paris for the Salon d’Automne) and 1907 (year in which Bugatti moves to Anversa).
